Captain Rena Navarro is the owner and lead instructor of Lake Superior Captain’s Academy. Her background in education shapes the way she teaches: practical explanations, room for questions, and personal guidance.

Where are classes held?

Classes are held in Superior, Wisconsin, convenient to Duluth and the Twin Ports. Check your selected course for its venue and schedule.

Do I need to be a professional boater?

No professional boating background is required to join the course. Licensing has separate sea service and other eligibility requirements; talk with Rena about your experience before enrolling.

Does finishing the course give me a license?

Course completion is part of the process. You still need to meet the Coast Guard’s requirements and complete its application process. Rena can help you understand the steps.

How do enrollment and payment work?

Choose a course here, then continue to Lake Superior Captain’s Academy’s existing website to select your class and pay through its checkout. This site does not collect payment details.

Can I get help with renewal or studying?

Yes. Renewal assistance and individual tutoring are available. Contact Rena to discuss what you need, or follow the links above to the academy’s service pages.
